Pakistan has earned 1008.490 million dollars by providing various information technology (IT) services in different countries in the first 11 months of the fiscal year 2018 to 2019.
This depicts growth of 4.37 per cent as compared to 966.240 million dollars that were earned through providing services in the corresponding period of the fiscal year 2017 to 2018, as reported by Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS).
During this period, the computer services increased by 12.21 per cent, from 654.170 million dollars last year to 734.020 million dollars during the July-May (2018 to 2019).
Among the services of computer, the exportation of software consultancy services as well as repair and the maintenance of services related to computers increased by 26.87 per cent and 231.93 per cent respectively. Furthermore, the other services of computer increased by 34.77 per cent.
The exportation of call centers services further increased by 7.95 per cent, from 93.039 million dollars to 100.436 million dollars whereas the exports of other information services rose by 53.28 per cent from 1.068 million dollars to 1.637 million dollars.
The exportation of information services in this period increased by 14.87 per cent increasing from 1.950 million dollars to 2.240 million dollars. In the information services, the exportation of the services of news agency declined by 31.63 per cent, from 0.882 million dollars to 0.603 million dollars whereas the exportation of services of other information increased by 53.
In the mean time, the telecommunication services declined by 20.86 per cent, from 217.081 million dollars to 171.794 million dollars in the current period.
The exports of hardware consultancy services have also declined by 40.36 per cent in the period as their exports decreased from 3.932 million dollars to 2.345 million dollars.
